The Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) has announced power outages across several areas in Pune’s Sinhagad, Nanded city and Dhayari between 9 am and 6 pm Thursday.
The utility said in its official release that maintenance and repair works necessitated the cut and regretted the inconvenience to consumers.
Residents in the area, however, are upset with this outage in the hot summer month as they cannot operate fans or air-conditioners to get some respite from the heat. Day temperatures are nearing 40 degrees Celsius and power cuts are unimaginable this season, said a resident at Vitthalwadi.
