Kolkata: Flight movement from the new integrated terminal building of Port Blair airport will start from Monday, around a month after it was virtually inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi.
Spread across 40,837 sq metres, the terminal is capable of handling about 11,000 commuters daily and the airport is suitable for parking 10 aircraft at a time. The building is equipped with 28 check-in counters, 12 immigration counters, 3 passenger boarding bridges and 3 conveyor belts.
This is likely to lead to domestic carriers increasing flights to the archipelago, hope officials.
