The poor condition of roads, including link roads connecting different villages with the cities has been a major poll issue for the villagers of Jagraon during these Lok Sabha elections. The villagers complained that most of the link roads in Jagraon area have been in a very bad condition and the successive governments of the past have failed to improve the condition of these roads.
Many villagers said the condition of link roads was the main issue for them and they would cast their votes for the candidate who they feel will construct the desired road for them. “The road from Jagraon to Raikot has been in poor condition for a long time. A major portion of this road has been in a shambles and no political parties have paid any attention towards improving the condition of this road despite this road being a state highway, connecting cities like Jalandhar and Barnala and several other villages. We have decided to vote for the candidate who can improve the dilapidated condition of this road,” says Satnam Singh, a resident of Cheema village.
