Good news for air travelers! Surat International Airport unveiled its state-of-the-art New Terminal Building (NITB), representing a significant leap forward in both capacity and cultural aesthetics. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the NITB on Sunday (December 17), signifying a substantial advancement in infrastructure. This milestone is expected to significantly elevate the overall travel experience for passengers.
Constructed at a cost of more than Rs 150 crore, the new terminal building is designed to accommodate 1200 domestic passengers and 600 international passengers during peak hours. Additionally, there is a provision for expanding the peak hour capacity to 3000 passengers, with the annual handling capacity poised to increase to 55 lakh passengers.
