Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unveiled and laid the foundation stone of a slew of projects, including rail and road works and a memorial dedicated to Rani Durgavati, worth Rs 12,600 crore in BJP-governed Madhya Pradesh, where assembly polls are likely to be held next month.
At an estimated expenditure of approximately Rs 100 crore, the ‘Veerangana Rani Durgavati Memorial and Park’ will be constructed in Jabalpur, covering an expansive area of nearly 21 acres. According to an official statement, a magnificent bronze statue of the Gond queen, standing at an impressive height of 52 feet, will be a prominent feature of the park.
