The Rajya Sabha MP from Ludhiana, Sanjeev Arora, has urged major airlines in the country to plan and begin flights from the upcoming international airport in Halwara, Ludhiana.
He has claimed that the interim terminal building and allied works of the Rs 47-crore international airport coming up in Halwara, close to Ludhiana, would be completed by June-end.
The development assumes significance as the Union Government has recently said no timeline was yet fixed to begin flights from the new airport in Ludhiana.
