For the fourth straight day, petrol and diesel saw a hike in prices on Sunday — this time by 35 paise per litre each — causing rates in pumps across the country to reach new highs. States with high incidence of local taxes like Madhya Pradesh had the costliest fuel.
According to a price notification by state-run retailers, in Delhi, petrol was at an all-time high of Rs 109.34 and diesel at Rs 98.07 a litre. In Mumbai, petrol costs Rs 115.15 and diesel Rs 106.23. Prices of the two were unchanged from October 25 to 27. Before that, prices were hiked by 35 paise per litre each on four straight days.
