NEW DELHI : Amid a slump in crude oil rates since the outbreak of coronavirus in China, petrol and diesel prices were cut once again today. Petrol price was cut by 9 paise a litre and diesel price by 8 paise today. Since the beginning of this month, petrol has become cheaper by ₹1.87 and diesel by ₹1.68 in Delhi.
In New Delhi, a litre of petrol today costs ₹73.27 and diesel ₹66.28. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol comes at a price of ₹78.88 a litre and diesel ₹69.47 a litre. If you are in Bengaluru, you will have to pay ₹75.71 for petrol and ₹68.48 for diesel. In Chennai, petrol costs ₹76.09 and diesel ₹70.01. Those in Hyderabad will have to pay ₹77.91 for petrol and ₹72.27 for diesel. In Gurgaon, you pay ₹73.09 for petrol and ₹65.51 for diesel.
Petrol and diesel prices are dependent on crude oil rates as well as taxes imposed by the state and central governments.
