Chennai: An association for persons affected by NLC’s land acquisition process has approached the Madras high court seeking more compensation for the lands acquired.
NLC Land Acquisition Affected Neglected Persons Welfare Association has alleged that fair compensation has not been awarded to landowners as guaranteed under the Tamil Nadu Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Rules and Right to Fair Compensation Act.
When the public interest writ petition came up for hearing on Wednesday before a division bench of Justice S Vaidyanathan and Justice K Rajasekar, the bench directed the petitioner to implead NLC as a party respondent to the petition and adjourned the hearing.
