Power consumption in the metropolis of Hyderabad has registered its peak demand surge to 3,276 MW this year, up from 2,950 MW last year.
Registering a growth of about 10 per cent over last year, the consumption is more than what is consumed by all the North-East States put together, according to D Prabhakar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of TS Transco and TS Genco.
Demand from industries
The demand growth was mainly due to increase in consumption from the industrial sector within the city precincts, IT sector, big surge in commercial connections and domestic consumers.
