NEW DELHI: With dozens of Jet Airways’ planes grounded and flights being cancelled, Air India has decided not to accept passengers with Jet tickets on its flights.
Airlines regularly accept each others’ passengers when flights are cancelled and then later on they get paid by the airline whose cancelled flights’ passengers are accepted. However, given the severe financial crunch Jet is facing, it seems others are not sure if the airline will be able to pay once its passengers are accepted.
“With immediate effect and till further notice, Jet Airways and Jetlite documents (including FIM and endorsed/involuntary rerouted/rebooked/exchanged/reissued) documents are not to be accepted for travel on AI flights,” says an AI order issued on Friday.
