The Centre is contemplating the expansion of the Patna Metro Rail network up to the revered Sikh shrine Sri Takht Harmandir Patna Sahib Gurudwara, announced Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Tuesday (December 26).
This development comes in response to a request made during a function at the Gurudwara, attended by several BJP leaders, including Ravi Shankar Prasad. The Gurudwara, situated at the birthplace of the 10th Sikh Guru, attracts pilgrims from across the globe, particularly during significant events like ‘Veer Baal Diwas’, which is being observed in memory of the martyrdom of two sons of Guru Gobind Singh. The Patna Sahib Gurudwara holds historical significance as the birthplace of the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.
