A gang of robbers looted items worth Rs 3.20 lakh from passengers during a train halt caused by signal failure in Gujarat’s Kheda district, the Railway said on Wednesday.
According to Saroj Kumari, Superintendent of Police, Western Railways, the robbery took place in the wee hours of Tuesday i.e. November 14. Authorities have mobilised multiple teams to apprehend the unidentified culprits. They are also investigating whether the signal failure was an act of sabotage.
As per the First Information Report lodged at the Anand railway police station, the Gandhidham-Indore Express en route to Indore halted near Anghadi village at approximately 1:30 am on November 14, PTI reported.
