KOLKATA: There was commotion at Howrah station on Friday as the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat rake had to be replaced by an ordinary AC one because of a technical snag.
Agitated passengers demanded to know why they were being forced to travel in an old rake despite paying for the high-end and much more comfortable Train 18. The AC rake left Howrah at 7am.
Among those on board was Governor CV Ananda Bose, who was travelling to Malda to meet families of migrant workers killed in the Mizoram bridge collapse.
