While passengers have to shell out more to fly to and fro from Mumbai, airlines might see an increase in yield owing to the partial shutdown of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport for maintenance.
The airport will not operate flights between 11 am and 5 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from February 7 to March 30. This is having a major impact on airline passengers as about 30 per cent of domestic passenger traffic originates or terminates at Mumbai airport.
