Alert troops of the Indian Army shot down a Pakistan Army quadcopter along Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of Jammu & Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.
In the evening, Pakistan initiated ‘unprovoked’ ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling mortars along the line of control in Degwar sector of Poonch district. In response, the Indian army retaliated effectively.
It is after a gap of almost one month the Pakistani troops have managed to steer a quadcopter along the line of control for reconnaissance of the forward posts.
In the past, Pakistani troops had attempted to smuggle arms and ammunition consignment and narcotics using drones in the region. Around half a dozen attempts have been reported across Jammu region in the recent months.
