Orange Renewable Power triples capacity with plants in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan

KOLKATA: Orange Renewable Power, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore-based AT Holdings Pte Ltd, on Tuesday said it has tripled its wind capacity with the commissioning of 120 MW in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Delhi-based Orange is a renewable energy developer and operator of wind and solar projects.

The company said it has commissioned 97.5 MW at its Mamatkheda site in Madhya Pradesh and 22.5 MW at Dalot and Devgarh in Rajasthan, bringing its total wind capacity to 179 MW. The company has an additional 400 MW under various stages of execution.

“This is a key milestone in our continued endeavour to deliver optimal energy solutions,” said Hemant Tikoo, chairman at Orange and Experion Group. “We aim to contribute towards providing end-to-end cleaner renewable energy sources through significant investments in the sector.”

The company said its Mamatkheda project is one of the largest single location wind power projects to be self-developed by an Indian independent power producer (IPP). “With its commissioning, the group has joined a select group of wind IPPs, who have commissioned self-developed projects,” the company said in a statement. “Orange has partnered with Regen Powertech, a leading wind turbine OEM, in this venture and has installed its technologically superior gearless V87 machines at the site.”
