NEW DELHI: A wide body Airbus A340 that was to bring back Indians from Israel on Sunday developed a snag on landing in Tel Aviv. The aircraft, wet leased by SpiceJet (leased along with operating crew), had flown from Delhi to Tel Aviv with no passenger to bring back people from there.
“On reaching Tel Aviv, the aircraft developed a snag. The lessor has flown it to nearby Jordan for repairs. Once rectified, it will go to Tel Aviv and then fly to Delhi,” said sources.
Air India has been operating the most charters to bring back Indians from Israel under Operation Ajay. Ajay Singh’s SpiceJet has deployed a wet leased A340 for Operation Ajay.
