Indian Railways is working on a super app that will combine the ticketing, train tracking and other services that the national transporter currently offers through more than a dozen mobile apps. “All the different apps of the Indian Railways will be brought under the umbrella of this Super App,” a senior government official told ET. “This will improve user experience by reducing the number of downloads needed for a complete bouquet of railway services.” He said there is scope for better synergy and monetising the existing offerings. CRIS-the railway ministry’s arm responsible for information technology (IT) systems-will be developing this super app.
