MUMBAI/NAVI MUMBAI: One lane of the decade-old project to widen Mumbai-Goa highway (NH-66) to four lanes is planned to be completed before the Ganpati festival next month, said Public Works Department (PWD) minister Ravindra Chavan during a meeting with chief minister Ekanth Shinde on Tuesday.
“The PWD is trying to take urgent measures regarding the work of Mumbai-Goa National Highway. The detailed project report work of Mumbai-Sindhudurg route is in its final stage. The 18 hour journey through Samruddhi Highway has come down to 8 to 10 hours. This is proving useful in terms of expanding industry opportunities along with farmers and travellers.
