The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and a UK-based renewable energy advisory firm launched a custom-made off-grid electric vehicle charging station on the campus on Tuesday.
The system comprises a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) module, a hybrid inverter, battery storage and an EV charger. The station was launched by the British Deputy High Commissioner Jeremy Pilmore-Bedford together with Dr Govindan Rangarajan, the director of the IISc.
The station was co-developed by the IISc Sustainable Transportation Lab (IST Lab) and the UK-based GreenEnco Ltd. The IISc team, Professor Ashish Verma, Convenor, IST Lab, will conduct the impact assessment of this charging facility and will be supported by GreenEnco.
