Residents of Salgot village in Kopra gram panchayat are up in arms against the failure of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd (HPSEBL) to provide double –phase electricity supply in their area. The consumers have been getting low voltage single phase power supply since the onset of summer.
Humid atmosphere and low voltage have made their life miserable. Their refrigerators, fans, television sets and other electrical gadgets are not working for want of double-phase power supply. The parents of school going children lament that their wards could not study at homes due to dim light. The residents said before April they did not face any such problem. The residents said after repeated requests the officials of the HPSEBL visited their village along with field staff in June and assured proper electricity supply, but nothing had been done. — OC
