The Four-Lane Sangharsh Samiti has rejected the award letter issued by the SDM-cum-competent authority for land acquisition for acquiring land at Nagabari and Raja Ka Bagh mohalas in Nurpur subdivision of Kangra district for the Pathankot-Mandi National Highway widening project. It today submitted a memorandum to the SDM demanding redress of the grievances of the affected residents within five days.
Led by samiti president Darbari Singh, senior vice-president Sudarshan Sharma and general secretary Vijay Heer, the affected residents staged a protest outside the mini-secretariat. In the memorandum, the samiti alleged that the award declared by the SDM on behalf of the NHAI recently was against law, natural justice and the basic concept of a welfare government.
