GUWAHATI: Taking advantage of plummeting oilNSE 0.59 % prices, Assam based Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) will import 21 TMT(Thousand Metric Tonnes)TMT of crude oil from Petronas Malaysia.
Managing Director of NRL S K Barua tweeted, “NRL is importing 21TMT crude oil from Petronas through Haldia port to be rail freighted to Numaligarh for future processing. A step towards ensuring energy security.”
An official in the company stated, “The crude oil vessel MT S-Trader has sailed off from Miri Port of Malaysia on Tuesday and is expected to reach Haldia on May 12 Crude Oil is presently traded in the market in the range of 19 USD per BBL to 24 USD per BBL against normal crude oil average price of 50 to 55 USD / BBL. Crude oil price varies based on its characteristics.”
