The state-owned National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited has stated that its Sipat Super Thermal Power Station (SSTPS) generated record 23907.12 million units (MUs) in 2018-2019 financial year with 91.58% plant load factor (PLF).
The capacity utilization or PLF achieved by the SSTPS was best among all the NTPC’s coal-fired plants, a press communiqué from the corporation said.
The PLF is the ratio of average power generated by the plant to the maximum capacity.
The NTPC’s Sipat plant with an installed capacity of 2980 MW, was able to surpass its previous best of 23778 MUs achieved in 2016-17 financial year.
