NTPC Lara Unit-1 (800 MW) has been declared commercially operation from 00:00 Hrs of October 1 (Tuesday).
The unit is running smoothly. Vinod Choudhary, Regional Executive Director (West-II) and Sanjay Madan, Executive Director, Lara have congratulated the employees of Lara project for successful commercial declaration of the unit and acknowledged the efforts of all.
With the addition of this unit, the commercial capacity of NTPC and NTPC group has reached 47325 MW and 55786 MW respectively.
The second 800 MW unit of the NTPC Lara is under construction and is expected to go on stream in the next financial year, states a statement of the company. The project has been planned for 5×800 MW units for total 4000 MW generation.
