The Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) on Friday entered into a land lease agreement with Paradip Port Trust (PPT) for its 234.14 acres of land earmarked for a crude oil import terminal plot.
The agreement was signed at Paradip between PPT Senior Assistant Estate Manager Biswajit Mishra and NRL CGM (HR) Prabir Kumar Talukdar in the presence of PPT Chairman Vinit Kumar and Deputy Chairman AK Bose and NRL officials, including Head Project, Pipeline Manoj Kumar Pegu. The terminal is being set up as part of the NRL’s Integrated Refinery Expansion project at a cost of more that Rs 22,000 crore.
The mega project envisages, amongst others, import of crude oil at the Paradip Port and its transport by laying a pipeline from Paradip to Numaligarh, Assam.
