After the RSS backed trade union Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh now the Congress backed trade union INTUC has decided to launch a stir to oppose the sale of 25 per cent share of BCCL.
Senior INTUC leader AK Jha in a statement here said that it’s move to sell prime coking coal producing company to a private party by the Modi government .
The proposed sale would adversely affect the employment opportunities as well as wage and perks of miners that was given to them by nationalisation of the mines 51 years ago by then PM Indira Gandhi, said Jha .
Our union has been fighting for the miners and continues to do so thus a stir plan to oppose this move has been drowned . Talks with other central trade unions are on on this issue and soon a detailed stir would be announced, he said.
