The daily operation of flights on the Delhi-Pantnagar-Dehradun route began on this weekend. Further, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) system has been set up at Pantnagar airport to enable refuelling of aircrafts here. With this, the Pantnagar airport will be able to provide ATF to all helicopters and aircraft operating in the entire Kumaon region. Earlier, this facility used to be accessed from Kanpur and Mughalsarai.
The Pantnagar airport director AK Singh informed that Air India used to operate flights on the Pantnagar-Delhi-Dehradun route four days a week. From this Saturday, the flights are being operated seven days a week. The service provider will operate 72-seater ATR-72 aircrafts on this route to enable more passengers to use the air service.
