There is no proposal for any modification in the current electricity tariff applicable in Uttar Pradesh, UP Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) chairman Ashish Kumar Goel categorically said here on Wednesday, urging people not to believe misleading reports.
“UPPCL has not proposed any change neither in the regular tariff nor in the fuel surcharge,” he told the HT when asked to confirm whether there was any proposal for reduction on the fuel surcharge for the quarter 1 of 2023-24. Revision in the fuel surcharge, he said, was a routine and mandatory exercise carried out every quarter of each financial year and the same may be increased or decreased or left unrevised all depending on the fuel (diesel, coal) for a particular quarter provided the UP Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) approved a proposal in this regard.
