Daily despatches of coal to power plants have exceeded consumption, which will result in a gradual improvement in the fuel stock position, power and renewables minister RK Singh said on Sunday, as the Centre sought to dispel worries about looming blackouts amid curbs on electricity supply in several states.
Coal minister Pralhad Joshi dismissed fears of power being disrupted due to coal shortages.
Singh rejected reports that there had been losses in generation due to the unavailability of the fuel.
