MUMBAI: No airline flights will take off or land in Maharashtra from Tuesday midnight, according to a decision taken by the state government on Monday to contain the spread of COVID-19. The move will hit those who had booked tickets to fly out of Mumbai this week. According to conservative estimates, about 30-50,000 passengers per day are likely to be hit.

“Domestic commercial airlines shall cease operations with effective from tomorrow midnight, that is 23.59 house on March 23. Airlines have to plan operations so as to land at their dedestinations before this time,” said a statement issued by press information bureau, Maharashtra on Monday afternoon.
