NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has generated 3,008 crore units of power in the financial year 2022-23, which is the highest for any financial year since its inception. The company also generated 219 crore units of green power from its solar and wind power plants in the fiscal year, which is also a new record for the company.
NLCIL chairman cum managing director Prasanna Kumar Motupalli had appreciated the executives and employees of the company for setting new benchmarks and records, said a release from the company.
The company mined a little more than one crore tonne of coal in the fiscal year, which is again the highest quantity since inception. The company, despite constraints on availability of land, excavated 2.4 crore tonne of lignite in 2022-23.
The revenue collection crossed 14,600 crore. The company exceeded the target (2,920 crore) for capital expenditure and achieved 3,010 crore. The company has floated tenders for single package procurement and construction (EPC) for the second expansion of Neyveli Thermal Power Station II project.
The company entered into a first-ever coal swapping arrangement with National Thermal Power Corporation through which coal from Mahanadi Coalfields Limited will be made available to NTPL, Tuticorin, in lieu of Talabira coal as a cost advantage measure.
