NHAI plans for tunnel from Sarai Kale Khan to Vasant Kunj in Delhi
NEW DELHI: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is preparing a concept plan to explore the possibility of building a tunnel from Ring Road near Sarai Kale Khan to Nelson Mandela Road in Vasant Kunj via Central and South Delhi and the IGI airport.
Officials said though “it’s a long shot”, but they have engaged a consultant to prepare the plan so that decision can be taken in future.
Sources said the intention behind the exercise is to zero down on options to have a seamless underground connectivity from the DND Flyway or Delhi-Meerut Expressway till Vasant Kunj.
