The NHAI has debarred the concessionaire of the under construction elevated corridor on 6-laning of NH-248-A from Rajiv chowk to Sohna from participating in any NHAI bids (directly or in association/ JV) involving major structural works after its explanation for the collapse of a span of the stretch was found unsatisfactory.
Following the collapse last month, the concessionaire, M/s Rajiv Chowk-Sohna Highway Pvt. Ltd. and its promoters i.e. M/s Oriental Structural Engineers Pvt. Ltd, was issued a show cause notice to explain the violation of the obligations under the Concession Agreement.
The explanation furnished by the concessionaire was found to be unsatisfactory, NHAI officials said, adding moreover, lapses were also found in implementation of the safety measures/workmanship/adherence to construction methodologies/ procedures, which were highlighted time and again to the contractor before the incident.
