As part of streamlining the parking system at Tiruchi airport, a revised parking fee structure will be in place from April 1.
Airport Director K. Gunasekaran told reporters here on Saturday that the Airports Authority of India had decided to do away with the system of awarding contracts for collecting parking fee. It would collect the parking fee directly from motorists on a trial basis for six months. The move follows complaints from users on discrepancies in fee and harassment by those manning the parking lot.
Mr. Gunasekaran said the parking fee had been reduced under the revised structure. Different time slabs had been introduced and the rates structured with the user benefit in mind.
