Chennai: In the coming summer, power consumers in Tamil Nadu will get more green power compared to the previous years as TNEB has set up a facility, Renewable Energy Management Centre (REMC), to do real-time renewable energy forecasting, scheduling and generation. The centre was opened by state power minister P Thangamani on Friday.
“REMC enables optimum utilisation of renewable power as it is connected to 154 pooling stations, which evacuate wind and solar power round-the-clock,” said a senior official in the state load despatch centre (SLDC).
Similar centres have been set up in seven states that are rich in wind and solar power generation. Such centres are also functioning at the state load despatch centres in four regions of the country.
