The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is exploring options to raise non-fare revenue with branding and advertising in the upcoming Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). It recently held an interaction with representatives of various industries.
The NCRTC will soon commission the 17-km priority section of India’s first RRTS, RAPIDX. It includes five stations — Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai depot.
“To overcome the challenges associated with reliance solely on passenger fares, the NCRTC is actively exploring non-fare box revenue options for financial sustainability,” said the NCRTC.
