The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Maharashtra unit had initially slated the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), India’s longest sea bridge, for a December 25 public opening. However, with around 97% completion, recent updates suggest a potential delay in inauguration until January 2024.
Initially set for December 25, the bridge’s inauguration aimed to alleviate peak-hour travel by 30-45 minutes. Yet, pending tasks, including electrification, pole installation, toll booths, and system integration, are yet to be finalized by the implementing agency.
