Natural gas price in India touched the lowest rate after the government slashed the price by 25 per cent to $1.79 per mn British thermal unit (mmBtu) for six months beginning October 1, 2020 from $2.39 per mmBtu. This is the third straight reduction announced in last 12 months.
The cap of the rate paid to producers of new gas from difficult fields such as deep-water, ultra-deep-water, or high pressure & high-temperature areas has also been reduced to $4.06
