The National Highway-707 would be closed for vehicular traffic from Jamli to Jaleau Temple in Shillai subdivision of Sirmaur district from February 21 to 28 to facilitate excavation of the hill for fourlaning. The road connecting Meenus to Uttarakhand would be affected.
Sirmaur DC K Gautam said the commuters should use the Ronhat-Rohana-Meenas bridge arterial road for these eight days. The Paonta Sahib-Meenus-Hatkoti highway was being widened and excavation work was at various stages all along the highway.
SDM Suresh Singha today directed the project director of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, which is executing its widening, to ensure the safety of public as well as labourers engaged in excavating the hill.
