Producers have sought complete pricing freedom while consumers proposed a price band to keep domestic natural gas affordable during consultations with the Kirit Parikh committee that has been tasked by the government to recommend a new pricing mechanism for local gas.
The committee has held wider consultations with all stakeholders, including gas producers, industry associations, generators, city gas distributors, and fertilizer makers, and will submit a comprehensive report by the end of November on the pricing for domestic gas.
