MUMBAI: Strongly opposing the Nanar Oil Refinery project in Konkan, the Shiv Sena held a public meeting in Ratnagiri district on Sunday to clarify that the project had been scrapped.
Sena MP Vinayak Raut and state minister for higher education Uday Samant were among those who attended the meeting. Raut declared that the Sena would not defend any party worker who misled people about the Nanar project.
Raut said, “People can thrash whoever supports the Nanar project and misleads locals even if he is a Shiv Sainik.” He said chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had scrapped the project.
