MUMBAI: In view of the Ganesh festival and to ensure vehicles carrying idols do not have to navigate potholed and uneven roads, additional municipal commissioner P Velrasu has given instructions to wards and to the roads department to fill potholes on a war footing.
Velrasu has directed assistant commissioners of wards, who are also the nodal officers, to prepare a map of the routes used by Ganpati mandals during installation of the idols and also during immersion during Ganesha Chaturthi.
Assistant commissioners have also been asked to coordinate with representatives of the Ganeshotsav mandals and take measures to resolve complaints regarding potholes and ensure that holes dug for erection of pandals are filled immediately after the festival.
