THANE: Mumbai, Thane motorists using the Mumbai-Nashik highway can heave a sigh of relief as the two lanes on the Nashik bound Saket bridge have been thrown open.
MSRDC engineers inspected the repairs and certified it safe for traffic movement, officials informed.
Traffic on the lane was shut abruptly last week after a defect was noticed on one of the spans running over the creek. All heavy vehicular traffic moving towards Nashik or JNPT from Mumbai and Ghodbunder road was diverted via Airoli while light vehicles were allowed to ply in a single lane. This led to massive snarls on the Eastern Express highway and Ghodbunder road.
