MUMBAI: Airlines currently operate about 966 flights to and from Mumbai airport daily as against the 820 average daily flight movements operated during the ‘summer schedule’ of 2022, thus registering a 14% increase in flight movements.
Airlines operate two flight schedules annually, with the summer schedule which begins from the last Sunday of March and ends in the last Saturday of October, the rest being the winter schedule. This year, the airline’s summer schedule runs from March 26 to October 28. “Increased demand for domestic and international travel movement has fueled the rise in the overall flight operations, which in turn will benefit the travelers from Mumbai and neighboring cities,” said Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), which shared the data on Thursday.
