MUMBAI: Low-cost carrier GoFirst’s aircraft non-availability issue has been causing major flight disruptions for months now. But when a long weekend rolls in during a summer vacation month, bringing a throng of passengers booked to fly out on short holidays, the issue exacerbates.
On Friday, day one of the extended long weekend, GoFirst flights from Mumbai to destinations such as Amritsar, Nagpur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Goa, Kannur, Dehradun, Jammu, Patna, Kochi, Bengaluru and Chennai, among others, were delayed.
GoFirst flights from other airports across India were delayed too, as was evident not just from flight-tracking apps but also from posts put up by passengers on social media.
