MUMBAI: A random survey of indicators that provide minute-by-minute countdown of the trains arrival status at various stations showed 25% display inaccurate information.
Central Railway (CR) has installed Train Management System (TMS) — a computerised system through which information about a train’s arrival and departure is provided on electronic display boards at platforms.
A senior CR official said that a few weeks ago, they had undertaken a random check and found accuracy in 80% indicators at Kurla and Dadar, 90% at Byculla, 65% percent at Ghatkopar and Bhandup, 75% at Mulund and 85% at Diva, Thakurli and Kanjurmarg stations.
