Mumbai / Pune : The MSRTC will induct 75 brand new electric buses in fleet in March, with close to 50 operating on Mumbai-Pune route and the rest on routes from Pune to Kolhapur, Nashik, Aurangabad and Solapur. Sources said that the fare from Mumbai to Pune could be around Rs 350.
In October 2021, the fare of popular Shivneri AC buses from Mumbai to Pune was hiked by Rs 75 per ticket — from Rs 450 to Rs 525 per seat.
The e-buses on Mumbai-Pune route will operate from Parel, Thane and Borivli and by April end, a total 100 electric buses will ply between the two cities, said MSRTC managing director Shekhar Channe.
