To provide high-quality 24-hour power supply to people, it is important to ensure the use of the latest technologies and modernise the grid to make it more reliable and efficient, said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a workshop of the Institution of Engineers (India) Himachal Pradesh State Centre and NSDF in collaboration with GE T&D India Ltd. on ‘Modernising Himachal Grid’ here today.
Thakur said the Centre was playing a major role in upskilling and re-skilling engineers. He said of the total 45,000 MW potential harnessed till date, the contribution of Himachal Pradesh was about 11,000 MW. The state government was committed to harnessing the immense power potential.
